In ground gardens

Because our soil is very heavy, clay soil we can only grow a few things well in ground and only with amended soil. We add gypsum and compost to the soil to help it be less compact. This year we limited our in ground to a more hot weather friendly variety of broccoli called Yod fah, flowers such as lupine and celosia, italian flat leaf parsley, thai blue butterfly pea, and okra. As we are looking for larger property, in the event we place our property for sale we didn't want rows of corn and beans in the backyard as everyone may not find them as aesthetically pleasing as I do.
